Journey

  • August 2025 - 3 Michif pals (esteemed artists in their own right) met together to put together a proof of concept for a Metis Mother Courage that travels with her red river cart through the entirety of Metis existence. From the hard birth of a new Indigenous nation to present day identity politics to the unknown future.

 

  • November 2025 - These same Michif met together for a week long intensive writing session. More songs, more adaptation work!

 

  • February 2026 Echo Theatre presented a work in progress sharing at Kiyanaan Indigenous Theatre Festival at Prairie Theatre Exchange.​ See a bit of it below!

 

2026-27 Echo Theatre will be developing this piece, and we are looking for partners to join our Red River Cart Journey into the past present and future!
