Eric Blais has acted for several major theatres in Winnipeg and abroad including The Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Prairie Theatre Exchange, Theatre Projects Manitoba, Winnipeg Jewish Theatre, Shakespeare In The Ruins, Manitoba Theatre For Young People, and The Vancouver Playhouse.  He has worked with many independent theatre and film companies, such as Tom Tom Theatre (Winnipeg), Narcoleptic Videographer (Vancouver), Theatre Bagger (Vancouver), Moustachio Theatre (Whitehorse), and Little Theatre of the Gray Goose (Winnipeg), in various roles including that of actor, writer, producer, and director. Blais has worked on over twenty-five film and television productions as an actor and stunt performer. He holds an MFA in Acting and Pedagogy from York University, and a BA Honours in Theatre from the University of Winnipeg. He has taught acting at York University, Manitoba Theatre for Young People, and the University of Winnipeg.

Leigh-Anne is an accomplished actress, playwright, and one-woman "showster" with sixteen years of solo performance experience in many venues.

Northern Light Theatre in Edmonton, and Prairie Theatre Exchange and Theatre Projects Manitoba in Winnipeg have commissioned and produced her stage shorts.

She is currently writing a full length play titled, THE GIRL BENEATH, the story of a German farm family hiding a Jewish girl under their floorboards during World War II.  The Winnipeg Jewish Foundation has funded the writing of the play and the Winnipeg Jewish Theatre presented it as part of the “So Nu?” festival of new Winnipeg Jewish plays.  She also wrote and performed in the 2015 Fringe Hit  “DIE!  Shakespeare DIE!”

 

With financial assistance from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Manitoba Arts council she has toured

VOICES ON THE WIND:  Stories of the Prairie Women, BABY BLUES and BIRTHING BUNDLES:  Stories of early motherhood and most notably, THE FINAL HOUR:  The story of her father’s palliative journey.  She is currently bringing THE FINAL HOUR to medical centres/conferences and was invited to perform the show at The National Arts Centre in June, 2016 along with another one woman show, FIRE WOMEN.

 

As a performing storyteller, Leigh-Anne has appeared nationally and internationally at renowned festivals including the Toronto International Storytelling Festival, The Yukon International Storytelling Festival, the Winnipeg International Peace Storytelling Festival, The Winnipeg Folk Festival and Children’s Festival and the Regina and Saskatoon Children’s Festivals.  Her performance tours have taken her to Japan, Denmark, Norway, Thailand and through many parts of Canada; especially her beloved home province of Manitoba.    She also works as an Artist in the School with the Manitoba Arts Council and as an arts-in-education specialist with St. James school division’s Integrated Arts program.

Heather works in various capacities as a stage manager, seamstress and props builder for regional and independent theatre companies - sometimes all in the same production! She is happy to be working with Echo Theatre once again (previously: Blithe Spirit, Lulu: A Monster Tragedy, The Smell of Dead Mums) and with awesome theatre friends both old and new. She makes custom garments et al under the name Heather Lee Bea (including custom merman couture). Love to Leif!
